Do I need to book to attend?
Advance booking is essential. Please refer to the information in the 'How can I attend?' box to select a registration slot and make your booking.
We recommend you book your Open Day place and refer to the programme of events before you arrange travel or accommodation.
Once you have booked a place at the Open Day you will be sent a confirmation email containing a QR code which you will be required to present on the day at registration.
Please do not turn up on the day without a booking. You will not be permitted to attend Open Day events.
Do I need to book subject talks separately?
No, you do not need to book subject or general talks separately. You just need to book a registration slot. Seating in our talks will be allocated on a first come first served basis, so we advise arriving in good time as the most popular sessions do fill up quickly. We cannot exceed the legal capacity of the venues so once the venue is full, we will have to turn people away. Talks are repeated throughout the day to allow all students the opportunity to attend and recordings of the sessions will be made available online after the event.
Please note only prospective students will be admitted to the subject talks. Due to space limitations, parents and other guests will be unable to attend.
Can I bring guests with me?
When booking a place you will be given the opportunity to book a place for one guest to accompany you. Space restrictions on campus mean that we are unable to accommodate more than one guest per student.
What time do I need to arrive and what time does the Open Day end?
You should arrive during the times specified in your chosen registration slot. The first registration slot opens at 9am and the last registration slot closes at 12pm. Activities will be taking place between 9.30am-3.45pm. You do not need to stay for the full day – the programme has been designed to allow you to choose which activities you’d like to attend.
We recommend that you refer to our event programme to plan your day in advance.

Is a full programme of events available?
Yes, please see our programe of events here. Please be aware that to reduce the environmental impact of the Open Day, we will not be providing printed copies on the day.
Can I visit student accommodation?
Due to the current COVID-secure measures in place at LSE, it will not be possible to visit halls of residence during the Open Day. Visit our Residential Services webpages to explore our halls of residence, access price lists and view virtual tours.
How do I get to LSE, and where do I go when I arrive?
Holborn and Temple underground stations are a five to ten minute walk away from LSE. Use our maps of LSE and directions to the campus to find your way to us. The TfL Journey Planner can help you find your way across London by tube, bus and train.
If you’re staying overnight in London, you may be interested in staying in an LSE hall of residence.
When you arrive at LSE, you should register before attending any other events. Details of the registration location will be contained in your booking confirmation email.
Can you help with the cost of travelling to the Open Day?
If you are currently studying at a state school or college in the UK and living more than 50 miles away from the LSE campus, you may be eligible to apply for the LSE Travel Fund.
The LSE Travel Fund contributes towards the cost of standard rail or coach travel to and from the LSE campus for eligible prospective undergraduate students. Visit the LSE Travel Fund page to find out more about eligibility criteria and how to apply.
Is car parking available?
We recommend travelling to LSE by public transport as parking in the area is extremely limited.
See Westminster Council parking for up-to-date information on parking near LSE, and a map of disabled parking bays near LSE.
Are there any COVID-19 requirements I need to comply with in order to attend?
Following the latest UK government announcement on COVID restrictions in England, we will not be asking for evidence of a recent negative COVID test, nor will face coverings be mandatory at the Open Day.
The UK government recommend that you continue to wear a face covering in crowded or enclosed spaces.
If you test positive or are feeling unwell, we ask that you do not attend the event. Please see the current UK government advice on staying safe and preventing the spread of coronavirus.
Enhanced ventilation measures and cleaning regimes are in place on the LSE campus. Find out more about the COVID-secure measures currently in place at LSE.
What should I bring with me to the Open Day?
Please bring your confirmation email containing the QR code. We can scan your code from a phone or tablet; you do not need to print the email.
Can I store my luggage?
We do not have storage facilities at LSE so you will be required to keep personal belongings with you at all times. Consequently, we would ask that you avoid bringing luggage with you. Mainline stations, such as London King’s Cross and London Waterloo, offer paid for left luggage facilities.
Is WiFi available?
Visitors will be able to access The Cloud WiFi. See Join the Cloud.
I can’t make it to the Open Day. Can I visit at another time?
An additional Open Day is scheduled to take place on Thursday 7 July. To receive full details and notification when bookings open, register for our mailing list.
There are other opportunities to visit LSE, including guided and self-guided campus tours, and appointments with the Student Marketing and Recruitment team.
You can also experience LSE from home through our Virtual Undergraduate Open Day, LSE Discovery Sessions, Live Chat, student blogs, video diaries, public lectures and webinars.
Recordings of the sessions will also be made available online after the Open Day.
