Women in Data: The Reality of Being a Data Scientist Today

Challenges, opportunities, and the future of the role

This event brings together women working across data science, statistics, and analytics to share honest reflections on what it means to be a data scientist today. Through a panel discussion, speakers will explore the realities of working in a fast-paced, data-driven and technologically evolving landscape, including the challenges they face, the opportunities available, and how the role of data scientists is changing in response to new tools and developments.

Drawing on their own professional experiences, speakers will discuss career pathways, workplace realities, and emerging trends in data and technology. The session will also offer practical advice for students preparing to enter the workplace, particularly those studying statistics, actuarial science, and data science.

Speakers include:

Chinonye Dianne Pat-Ekeji | Senior Product Data Analyst at Flo Health UK

Heya Lutthara | Data and Insights Analyst

Micha Panagiotid | Head of Data Science at Updraft

The event will conclude with a panel Q&A followed by an informal networking session with current students.
