Dr. Omer Gibreel is an Assistant Professor at Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) in Kuwait. He previously served as Dean of the College of Administrative Sciences and as an Assistant Professor at the National University of Sudan. He was also a Mentor for the Clinton Global Initiative University, focusing on sustainable systems and innovation. A Fulbright Scholar, he received the U.S. Presidential Education Award for “Outstanding Educational Improvement in Pursuit of Academic Excellence” Awarded by President Bill Clinton. Dr. Gibreel earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) and Master's degree from Seoul National University (SNU), with a focus on Management Information Systems and Technology Management. He also holds a double Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Computer Science & Engineering from Korea University. Gibreel’s research focuses on AI literacy, knowledge management, Crisis Informatics, System Analysis and Design, Electronic Commerce, Social Commerce, Frugal Innovation, and ICT for Development. His research has been published in leading journals, including Electronic Commerce Research and Applications, Information Development, and the Journal of Innovation & Knowledge, and presented at major global conferences such as PACIS and ICISS.
