The Global School of Sustainability Scholarship is available to students studying sustainability and climate change programmes at LSE.
The GSoS scholarship supports the next generation of sustainability leaders and builds a lasting community of students and alumni who remain part of the GSoS network beyond graduation.

Global School of Sustainability Scholarship
The Global School of Sustainability Scholarship supports students on sustainability-related programmes at LSE. It provides financial support and connects scholars to the wider GSoS community.
GSoS scholars take part in a programme of events, including mentoring and networking opportunities. The GSoS scholarship events help connect your studies with real-world sustainability research and impact.
The GSoS scholarship empowers the next generation of sustainability leaders and builds a lasting community of students and alumni who remain part of the GSoS network beyond graduation.
Eligible Programmes:
The GSoS Scholarship is open to students studying on an undergraduate or postgraduate programme in sustainability and climate change.
The GSoS Scholarship may be awarded to students on other GSoS-related programmes, based on the number of eligible applicants enrolled in identified programmes each year. Awards in such cases are subject to availability and granted at the School’s discretion.

- Double Master’s in Environmental Policy, Technology and Health (with Peking University)
Postgraduate Research Programmes
GSoS funds prospective research students applying to programmes where their research proposal aligns with GSoS’s sustainability research and impact work.
In the 2025/26 academic year GSoS funded PhD students in the following departments:
- Econmics
- Psychology and behavioural science
- Environmental Economics
- Sociology
Undergraduate Students:
Prospective students with an offer of admission to LSE (conditional or unconditional) can apply for the GSoS Scholarship through the Financial Support Office (FSO).
The FSO application process assesses eligibility for a range of LSE scholarships, including the GSoS Scholarship. The GSoS scholarship is awarded to undergraduate students studying sustainability-related programmes aligned with GSoS's sustainability research and impact work. Prospective students do not need to apply directly for the GSoS Scholarship.
How to apply:
Once you have an offer of admission to attend LSE, you should submit the following:
- LSE Undergraduate Scholarship Application 2026
- One academic reference - this can be sent by you together with your scholarship application, or it can be sent to us separately by your referee to financial-support@lse.ac.uk
- Supporting documents - this will vary dependent on the information you have provided; further guidance can be found in the scholarship application form
- Applicants who follow the process above will be considered against the eligibility requirements for all scholarships

Postgraduate Students:
Postgraduate students can apply for the GSoS Scholarship through the Graduate Applicant Portal (GAP).
Once you have provided all the required information, LSE will assess your eligibility for all LSE postgraduate scholarships, unless otherwise stated, including the GSoS Scholarship. The GSoS scholarship is awarded to postgraduate students studying sustainability-related programmes aligned with GSoS's sustainability research and impact work. Prospective students do not need to apply directly for the GSoS Scholarship.
How to apply:
- Once you submit your application for admission to LSE, you will be given access to the Graduate Applicant Portal. This allows you to track all aspects of your application for admission and will include a link to the Graduate Financial Support Application.
- Unless otherwise stated on the relevant scholarship page, all graduate study scholarships are applied for through the Graduate Financial Support Application.
- The information you provide through the Graduate Financial Support Application will be used to consider your eligibility for the Graduate Support Scheme.
- By completing the personal statement section of the Graduate Financial Support Application, you will also be considered for any other scholarships you may be eligible for. You do not need to submit a separate application for each scholarship.

Undergraduate Students:
For offer holders with Home fee status, the 2026/27 deadline for receipt of LSE Undergraduate Scholarship applications is 01 June 2026. Scholarship decisions will be made and communicated by the end of August 2026.
For offer holders with Overseas fee status, the 2026/27 deadline for receipt of LSE Undergraduate Scholarship applications is 30 April 2026 (previously 23 April 2026, please disregard the deadline listed on the application form).Scholarship decisions will be made and communicated by the end of July 2026.
Postgraduate Students:
The deadline for submission of Graduate Financial Support Application for students commencing study at LSE in the 2026/27 academic year was 23 April 2026.
