LSE at the 2025 LGA Conference

LSE attended the 2025 Local Government Association Conference in Liverpool to support a reception which brought together politicians, practitioners and business leaders from London and beyond to discuss how the capital and regions can jointly turbo-charge sustainable growth nationwide.

Prof Tony Travers, Director of LSE London, addressed a packed room, highlighting LSE’s wealth of expertise on local growth and economic policy, alongside Cllr Claire Holland, the Chair of London Councils, Cllr Bev Craig, the Leader of Manchester City Council and others. Dr Filippo Boeri also discussed his research on skills, productivity and regional growth with local government leaders, focusing on how research and data can inform better decision-making.

LSE supported the reception in partnership with BusinessLDN, London Councils, the Northern Powerhouse Partnership, Arcadis, and London Stansted Airport.
