Guided campus tour

Hosted by the Student Marketing and Recruitment team

Student Services Centre, Old Building, LSE, United Kingdom

Our guided tours are a great opportunity to visit some of LSE’s key facilities and get a feel for what it’s like to be a student at LSE.

Tours are led by current LSE students and last for approximately 30 minutes. Tours are followed by an optional 40 minute presentation outlining undergraduate, graduate and General Course study options at LSE, student life and the application process delivered by a member of staff from Student Marketing and Recruitment.

To attend a tour, please book a place via the link in the 'how can I attend' section.

Tours depart promptly at 3pm from the Student Services Centre in the Old Building. Please ensure you arrive five minutes early as we are unable to wait for late arrivals.

We are unable to provide storage facilities for bags and luggage.

Accessibility

If you have any access requirements, you can indicate this on the booking form at the time of registering for the tour. Alternatively, please contact Sarah Mullen to discuss your requirements.

Accessibility guides for all LSE buildings can be viewed on the AccessAble website.

FAQs

What time do I need to arrive and where does the campus tour start?

We advise that you arrive 5-10 minutes before the scheduled 3pm tour departure time. On arrival, please report to the Student Services Centre in the Old Building.

Holborn and Temple underground stations are a five to ten minute walk away from LSE.  Use our maps of LSE and directions to the campus to find your way to us.

We are unable to wait for late arrivals. If you arrive after the tour has departed, you are welcome to take a self-guided tour using a copy of the LSExplorer available from the Student Services Centre. The Student Marketing and Recruitment team (based in Pankhurst House, 6th Floor) offer a drop-in service between 9.30am – 5pm weekdays and would be happy to assist with any general queries regarding making an application to the School. You do not need to have an appointment.

Can I bring guests with me?

Places are limited so we ask that attendees bring only one guest with them to the event. This is to ensure that we are able to accommodate as many prospective students as possible on the day.

Can I visit academic departments or speak to academic staff during my visit?

Tours do not include visits to individual academic departments, neither are we able to arrange appointments with academic members of staff. The member of Student Marketing and Recruitment staff delivering the introductory presentation would be happy to assist with any queries you may have concerning studying at the School.

Does the tour include student accommodation?

Visits to LSE’s halls of residence are not included in our guided campus tours. To find out about accommodation options at LSE, please visit our Residential Services webpage.

If there is a particular residence you would like to visit, you are advised to email their reception team in advance to determine whether they would be able to offer you a tour on your chosen date. Contact details for the reception teams can be found on individual residence webpages.

I can’t visit on any of the listed dates. Can you arrange a guided tour for me at another time?

We can only offer guided tours on the dates listed. Outside of these times, you are welcome to visit LSE any weekday between 9.30am and 5pm for a self-guided tour using a copy of the LSExplorer leaflet. This allows you to tour the campus individually and see some of our excellent facilities.

The Student Marketing and Recruitment team (based in Pankhurst House, 6th Floor) offer a drop-in service between 9.30am – 5pm weekdays and would be happy to assist with any general queries regarding making an application to the School. You do not have to make an appointment in advance.

Alternatively, there are several opportunities to experience LSE from home, including webinars and videos.

Can I store my luggage?

We do not have storage facilities at LSE so you will be required to keep personal belongings with you at all times. Consequently, we would ask that you avoid bringing luggage with you. Mainline stations, such as London King’s Cross and London Waterloo, often offer paid for left luggage facilities.

Can I make a group booking?

If you are making a booking for a school or college group of ten or more students, please complete our group visit request form instead.

Attendance is free of charge and does not form part of the School’s selection process.
