How can psychological and behavioural science shape our future?

The Department of Psychological and Behavioural Science at LSE is excited to announce a number of events for the LSE Festival 2020: Shape the World. This festival, Monday 2 March to Saturday 7 March, brings together global leaders, innovators and change makers to investigate how we can learn lessons from the past, tackle the challenges of today and shape the future. We will bring expertise in psychology and behavioural science to these discussions.

All events are free and open to the public and where a ticket is needed, a link is provided below.

Join Dr Ganga Shreedhar, Assistant Professor in Behavioural Science, in this panel discussion chaired by Dr Rebecca Elliott, on the role of writers in addressing climate change.On 11 October 2019, a group of writers congregated in Trafalgar Square to protest against climate change as part of Extinction Rebellion’s October Uprising. In a four-hour marathon of readings from novelists, poets, screenwriters and academics, writers insisted on the responsibility of artists to address our climate crisis. But can their protest make a difference? How do writers regard their role in leading social change? And does literature have to be about climate change to alter political and social action to save our environment?

How do people make decisions? LSE is home to research that tries to understand human behaviour. We want to invite you to see the research we are doing and interact with it, all in the setting of our Behavioural Research Lab.

This event is open to 10-18 year olds who should be accompanied by an adult. Group teaching sessions will be available.
