PPE Showcase

The four-year programme in Philosophy, Politics and Economics (PPE) offers rigorous training in all three disciplines LSE is renowned for. Final-year PPE students also complete independent research and work with external organisations on our innovative Capstone course.

PPE Research showcase

Each year, final year PPE students present the work they have produced for their interdisciplinary PPE courses during a showcase event. All LSE staff and students, their friends and family, and PPE Capstone Project Clients are invited to attend. The event included presentations, poster sessions as well as a reception.

Capstone project

The 4th year PPE Capstone project is dedicated to tackling a practical policy issue or problem relevant to an external client organisation. Working in small teams under the supervision of a faculty member, students have a unique opportunity to combine and deploy their knowledge and skills to address real-life policy needs.

Capstone clients may include public sector bodies, private companies, international organisations, think tanks and NGOs. The project is carried out over an intensive 11-week period that culminates in a presentation and the submission of a written report to the client.

PPE Journal: Studies in Philosophy, Politics and Economics

The student journal “Studies in Philosophy, Politics and Economics” publishes sharp, original, and interdisciplinary articles by students on LSE’s PPE degree. The journal engages with pressing questions of national and international policy that call for interdisciplinary analysis. It aims to contribute new and diverse perspectives to the global debate on these issues and intends to speak to an intellectually curious and informed, but non-expert audience.

Study abroad

Additionally, there is a study abroad option for the PPE programme available. Students can apply to spend a year (included in the four-year programme) at one of our partner universities such as Science Po Paris, University of California, University of Tokyo, University of Hong Kong, Central European University, University of Toronto, University of British Columbia, National University of Singapore, and NYU New York City. The study abroad option depends on the chosen research topics and will need to be approved by the programme director.
