Michael Schultz is a Course Tutor in the Department of Methodology. He completed his PhD in Sociology at the University of California, Berkeley in 2016. Prior to joining LSE, he was a Postdoctoral Fellow at Northwestern University and an Assistant Professor of Sociology at Indiana University, Bloomington. Michael's research interests lie in the fields of computational methodology and social networks. He uses computational methods to explore conversational dynamics, social interaction, and organizational fields. His current work investigates the relationship between conversational norms and group dynamics in policy discussion at the US Federal Open Market Committee.
