Rethinking Global Finance

The Rethinking Global Finance  initiative aims to strengthen the research capacity and policy voice of key emerging economies. Only on this basis can a truly global and inclusive financial architecture be developed. The project brings together lead academic and policy-makers from key emerging economies and advanced countries.

Avoiding the “Middle Income Trap”

As part of the INET Transformation Commission chaired by Nobel Laureates Michael Spence and Joseph Stiglitz, IGA has initiated a policy research initiative “Avoiding the Middle Income Trap” (MIT). The MIT project will produce a large number of background papers and a final report, accompanied by a series of case studies elucidating the experiences of individual countries that have recently transitioned from middle to high income status.

Governance

The Governance Initiative aims to contribute with targeted research and policy advice to two key pillars of good governance: political governance and corporate governance. These are covered by two distinct though interrelated projects that IGA is undertaking, with the engagement of academia, government, civil society, international financial institutions and the private sector.

The Global Migration Initiative aims to find workable policy solutions, both emergency measures and long term thinking, for the truly global and urgent challenge of international migration.

 
Blue Initiative

Blue Finance: Research and Policy for Global Ocean Governance

The Blue Finance initiative aims to make to strengthen the case for ocean resilience solutions. This requires a multi-disciplinary engagement, including economics and other social and natural sciences with policy and governance to identify and address the underlying drivers and risks.
