This summer, I took MG101: Marketing at LSE Summer School. I had my seminar classes in the morning and the lectures in the afternoon. My morning class time rotated each day, so on some days, I had the opportunity to explore the city after class, while on others, I just had time to go to a local lunch spot to grab a bite before my 14:00 lecture. On days when my seminar was at 9:00, I had ample time to explore the city between classes. Thanks to the central location of the LSE campus, it was easy to stroll around the streets with friends, visit museums, or use the library to get my work done for the day. While the timetable at Summer School can seem intense, there is still plenty of time during the day to enjoy London and campus – here are my top recommendations of places to visit between classes.

Some of my favourite attractions and museums that I visited between classes included:

Tower of London

Tower Bridge

British Museum

The National Gallery

Big Ben

The Tower of London and Tower Bridge are so close to campus (only 20 minutes on the Tube) that I didn't feel rushed during my tour. I could take my time exploring each exhibit, admire the Crown Jewels, and enjoy lunch before my 14:00 class. The British Museum was also conveniently located near campus (roughly a 10 minute walk away). I split my visit across two days to fully appreciate each exhibit without feeling rushed. To reach the National Gallery, my friends and I took the tube to Trafalgar Square, where we spent a few minutes before entering the gallery. We planned which paintings to see in advance, which helped us make the most of our time. When I visited Big Ben, I walked around the area, taking pictures, and returned on a weekend when I had more time to visit Westminster Abbey.

When I had class later in the morning, I had enough time to explore the area local to LSE and find great places to eat. I often joined my classmates, and we would either visit a London café called Pret, grab a meal deal from a grocery store, eat at one of the restaurants on campus, or find a nearby eatery. This allowed us to enjoy quick and budget-friendly dining experiences. With numerous food options on or near campus, my friends and I aimed to try a different place each time!

On the days that I didn't explore London between classes, I either went to the campus gym, visited the library, or stayed on campus to eat, especially when I had a shorter break between the seminar and lecture. Using the campus gym was convenient because I could work out, return to my residence hall to shower and change, and then have lunch before my class. At the library, I worked on practice cases with my classmates or completed other assignments for my class. When I had a brief break between the seminar and lecture, I typically grabbed lunch and returned to campus, where I could relax indoors before my lecture began.
