Web Editors' Handbook

NEW 2009

As you will be aware, Web Services is currently migrating LSE websites from FrontPage to the new Content Management System (CMS), which uses the new wider template we are calling V4. A new website has been published which explains all the changes. See CMS: migration

A new policy has been introduced to simplify the LSE website structure - please take time to read this carefully - see the Full policy.

For an explanation of what this means for individual sites see
Structure of the LSE website

New materials and web pages to support LSE's web editors are currently being composed which will replace this Web Editors' Handbook. This handbook is your first resource for editorial and production queries: advice on writing for the web; web style guidelines; and advice on images, template design, and other design-related issues.

Web Services offers web editors support in the form of web surgeries and the webeditors.enquiries@lse.ac.uk mailbox. We can help with queries, and offer support in the use of this guide.

If you find a term that is unclear or unfamiliar, look it up in the glossary.

For rapid access to subsections, and an overview of this guide, please refer to the Index.
