About me

I worked for the Law Society for England and Wales for 5 years following my BA in Business Law. I moved into English language teaching in the early 1990’s working in Spain, Turkey and South America after returning to the UK to complete two MSc’s in Applied Linguistics and Multimedia and Computing. I began my career in EAP at UCL in 1996 before taking up a position at the LSE in 1999 as Co-ordinator for EAP programmes. My main areas of interest are course design and teaching methodologies.

My current position at LSE involves coordinating EAP support for the  LN992 Academic cluster.

About the Language Centre

LSE is a centre for the study of the social sciences and this is reflected in its Language Centre.

Our courses focus on language and society, encouraging you to learn how to use language in the contexts you would like to live, study and work in. We teach people to speak languages, but also teach about language (socio-linguistics and intercultural communication) and offer a range of courses on literature and society.

We offer English for Academic Purposes programmes, BSc programmes a range of undergraduate degree courses you can take as part of your degree and a range of language options that you can take outside of your main degree programme. All programmes and courses relate language study and support to the fields of interest of social science students.
