Hongyi has a BA and an MA in Russian Linguistics and Literature from Beijing Normal University, China and an LLM in Banking and Finance Law from SOAS. She has also passed the national 'Bar Examinations' in China.
Hongyi started work at LSE in October 2006 and has considerable experience in teaching Chinese for business purposes. Previously, she worked as a senior specialist in international trade and foreign investment. During this time she also served as a Chinese diplomat.
