LSE celebrates eleventh year as London’s top university

This achievement is a credit to our LSE community, centred in a diverse and vibrant capital city with a global outlook.

LSE has been ranked as the top university in London in the Complete University Guide 2023.

This is the eleventh consecutive year in which the guide has rated LSE as the best university in the capital. The School comes out top of the 22 universities assessed in London, and third overall in the UK out of 130 universities assessed nationally.

The 2023 league table also ranks 12 LSE subjects in the UK top 10, with Social Policy at LSE taking the top spot for the subject area.

LSE’s Pro-Director of Research, Professor Susana Mourato, said of the news:

“Our top position recognises the School’s continuing commitment to world-leading research and education. This achievement is also a credit to our LSE community, centred in a diverse and vibrant capital city with a global outlook.”

The Complete University Guide is produced annually and assesses universities by a range of measures such as research quality, graduate prospects and student satisfaction.
