Join a global community of high-achieving Summer School students who help shape how LSE is experienced by future cohorts.

As a Student Ambassador, you’ll represent LSE Summer School by sharing your experience and insights. From academic life to living in London and meeting people from around the world, you’ll help future students understand what studying at LSE is really like.

You’ll choose how you contribute – whether through social media, events, blogs, or representing LSE in your home country. You’ll also work closely with LSE staff, who will support you in developing impactful, high-quality content throughout the programme.

Alongside your work, you’ll be part of a close-knit international community of Student Ambassadors – a group of motivated students who are also building, creating, and contributing. It’s a genuinely social network, with opportunities to connect, collaborate, and meet peers from across the world.

Who can be a Student Ambassador

This programme is open to current LSE Summer School students who are committed to actively contributing during and after their session.

We look for engaged, motivated students who are proud to represent LSE Summer School and willing to contribute meaningfully to the community.

Students who have received an Academic Director's Scholarship will automatically join the programme upon arrival – no application is required.

What you'll do

The Student Ambassador role is flexible, but it is an active and committed position. It runs for one year from the summer you attend LSE Summer School and is a voluntary role with no fixed weekly hours.

On average, Ambassadors contribute around 10 hours across the year, depending on availability and chosen activities.

You’ll be expected to take part in at least three activities, which may include:

  • Events and webinars
  • Social media content creation
  • In-country or regional representation
  • Blogs and digital storytelling
  • Providing quotes or participating in photoshoots

You must also attend an initial onboarding session at the start of your Ambassador journey, along with occasional online meetings and community touchpoints throughout the year.

This structure ensures you’re supported, connected, and set up to contribute meaningfully from the start.

What you'll gain

This is a selective ambassador programme designed for students who want to build real experience while representing LSE Summer School on a global stage.

You’ll develop skills in communication, leadership, content creation, and professional networking, while working alongside a diverse community of students, staff, and academics.

You’ll also become part of a vibrant ambassador network – a social and professional community of students who are actively shaping the Summer School experience together.

High-performing Ambassadors may also receive recognition such as:

  • LinkedIn recommendations
  • LSE-branded gifts
  • Certificates recognising contribution to the programme

How to apply

Ambassador applications are not yet open.

Applications open at the start of each Summer School session. You’ll complete a short application form and submit a 2-minute video explaining why you want to represent LSE Summer School as a Student Ambassador.

Full details will be shared via email in Week 1 of your session.
