At LSE Summer School, not only do we offer you a world-class education, but we also give you world-class extracurricular activities to enhance your personal and professional development alongside your academic growth.

Spark is a programme that offers a range of exciting events, boot camps, panels, pitches and workshops that help you enhance your professional skills for today’s rapidly developing workplace. The Spark programme runs in conjunction with academic courses and social programmes so that you can focus on each area of development equally.

Earn a micro-accreditation in professional skills

We are thrilled to offer micro-accreditation in the form of a digital badge as part of our Spark programme! Based on your attendance at Spark events, you will have the opportunity to earn a badge to showcase your professional skills to potential employers. Once completed you will be able to download your badge and display it on your LinkedIn page, your email signature or add it to the skills and achievement section of your CV.

How it works:

Badges are earned by attending a specific number of Spark events:

  • Gold badge: Attend six or more Spark events
  • Silver badge: Attend four or five Spark events
  • Bronze badge: Attend two or three Spark events

To make sure you get your badge, please note -

  • Arrive on time to Spark events and ensure your attendance is recorded by an LSE member of staff upon arrival. If you arrive more than 10 minutes after the session starts, your attendance will not be recorded and you will not receive credit towards your badge.
  • Be aware that some venues have multiple entrances (eg. Old Theatre), so you should seek out a member of staff to register your attendance before entering.
  • You can only attend spark events in sessions you are registered for.

When will you receive your badge?

Badges will be issued to each qualifying student after Summer School, around the end of October. You will receive an email with instructions on how to access and display your badge on your LinkedIn profile.
