SS_2023_468

As a Student Ambassador, you will work with LSE staff and students to promote LSE Summer School, strengthen our community, and provide help and advice to future students.

You will be able to share your LSE stories, memories, and tips through a wide range of channels and platforms, including events, social media, and blogs. You will have the freedom to get involved in any activities that cater to your interests, your skills and your own personal development. You can talk about anything LSE Summer School related - your experience in the classroom, navigating London, living in student accommodation, meeting new people, attending public lectures…the list goes on!

You will also work with the LSE Summer School Marketing and Recruitment Team to develop your own ideas for content. LSE staff will help and guide you every step of the way.

Who can be a Student Ambassador

Anyone who is enrolled as a Summer School student this year can apply to become an ambassador, once their Summer School session has begun. We recruit a diverse, talented, and truly global cohort of enthusiastic Summer School students who are passionate about LSE.

If you are a recipient of the Academic Director's Scholarship, you will automatically be enrolled to the Student Ambassador programme when you arrive at Summer School - you do not need to apply.

Opportunities for Student Ambassadors

The role is flexible and can be tailored around your workload. Your time as a Student Ambassador will run for a year, starting from the summer you attend LSE Summer School. This is a voluntary role that does not require a set amount of work per week or month, but we do expect you to be engaged during your year as an ambassador.

On average, our Ambassadors spend roughly 10 hours over the year on their Ambassador activities, but this is flexible.

Student Ambassadors will be able to work on a wide range of activities including but not limited to the following:

Responsibilities

LSE Summer School Student Ambassadors are required to:

  • Commit to a minimum of three activities from the above list
  • Attend onboarding presentations, online ambassador meetings and some on campus or in-country meetups
Benefits

The Student Ambassador programme is an ideal opportunity to develop your skills and add experience to your CV in areas such as communication, leadership, content creation across digital platforms, networking, and collaborating with students, professional services staff, and faculty across LSE.

All Student Ambassadors will be invited to ambassador networking sessions and receive an LSE branded gift in recognition of their work.

In addition to those benefits, high performing ambassadors may receive performance-based rewards such as:

  • LinkedIn recommendations
  • Branded LSE gift
  • Participation certificates mentioning your contributions to the programme

How to apply

Applications are closed. Applications will open during Summer School, and all students will receive an email with the specific details at this time.
