Availability
This course is compulsory on the MSc in Financial Statistics, MSc in Financial Statistics (Research), MSc in Statistics and MSc in Statistics (Research). This course is available on the MRes/PhD in Management (Marketing) and MSc in Social Research Methods. This course is available with permission as an outside option to students on other programmes where regulations permit.
Requisites
Assumed prior knowledge:
A knowledge of probability and statistics to the equivalent level of ST102 Elementary Statistical Theory.
Course content
The course provides a comprehensive coverage of fundamental aspects of methods and principles in probability and statistics, as well as linear regression analysis.
Teaching
9 hours of seminars and 20 hours of lectures in the Autumn Term.
This course has a reading week in Week 6 of Autumn Term.
Formative assessment
Students will complete weekly problem sheets.
