Availability
This course is compulsory on the MSc in Human Resources and Organisations (Human Resource Management/CIPD), MSc in Human Resources and Organisations (International Employment Relations/CIPD) and MSc in Human Resources and Organisations (Organisational Behaviour). This course is not available as an outside option to students on other programmes.
Course content
The course is divided into 10 sessions: five Autumn Term sessions, five Winter Term sessions. Across all 10 sessions, a range of HR and people management career routes are explored including consulting, generalist roles, learning and development, people analytics, organisational development, reward, business partnering, and more.
Autumn Term:

Introduction to HR & People Careers, followed by four sessions exploring HR and people management career routes via alumni panels, speed-networking sessions, and informative presentations.
Winter Term:
-
Four sessions building on the Autumn Term sessions via interactive, practical skills workshops. The fifth and final session focuses on active and structured reflection across the year and action planning.
Teaching
10 hours of lectures in the Autumn Term.
10 hours of lectures in the Winter Term.
This course has a reading week in Week 6 of Autumn and Winter Term.
Students will attend 5 sessions in Autumn Term and 5 sessions in Winter Term, 1.5 hours – 2 hours per session.
