Course content
This course examines the relationship between media, culture, and cities. Drawing on media and communications, urban theory, cultural studies and urban geography, students will explore how cities emerge as sites of media production, consumption, and circulation — and how urban life is shaped by digital platforms, networked infrastructures, and creative industries. From London and New York to Lagos and Shanghai, the course traces the uneven geographies of global media cultures, attending to questions of power, inequality, and everyday urban experience.
