This course is compulsory on the MSc in Geographic Data Science. This course is not available as an outside option to students on other programmes. This course uses controlled access as part of the course selection process. The dissertation may be on any topic within the field of the MSc programme studied. Approval for the topic must be obtained from the relevant Programme Director.

In the Department of Geography and Environment, teaching will be delivered through a combination of classes/seminars, pre-recorded lectures, live online lectures, in-person lectures and other supplementary interactive live activities.

This course is delivered through a combination of workshops and one to one supervision across Autumn, Winter and Spring Term.

Dissertation (100%, 8000 words).

Vivas, in the form of a 10-minute presentation followed by 5 minutes of questions, will be held in week zero of the subsequent academic year (mid September).
