Availability
This course is compulsory on the MRes/PhD in Finance. This course is not available as an outside option to students on other programmes. This course uses controlled access as part of the course selection process. All students on a programme listed above will be given a place. This course is closed to outside students and does not permit auditing students.

Course content
This is a seminar course for PhD students in the early stages of their research to present their work in progress. Outside speakers may also be invited from time to time.
Teaching
10 hours of seminars in the Autumn Term.
10 hours of seminars in the Winter Term.
6 hours of seminars in the Spring Term.
Other meetings to be arranged as necessary.
Assessment
Research paper (100%, 10000 words).
The research paper also includes a presentation and jointly these constitute 100%.
The research paper will be 10,000 words in length and due in ST.
The presentation will be 60 minutes in length, take place in ST, and be delivered to the student’s advisor and another faculty member.
