Availability

This course is compulsory on the MSc in Human Resources and Organisations (Human Resource Management/CIPD), MSc in Human Resources and Organisations (International Employment Relations/CIPD) and MSc in Human Resources and Organisations (Organisational Behaviour). This course is not available as an outside option to students on other programmes.

Course content

The course is divided into 10 sessions: five Autumn Term sessions, five Winter Term sessions.

Autumn Term:

  • Introduction to HR & People Careers, followed by four sessions each exploring a specific career route in HR and people management via a combination of LSE alumni panels, workshops, speed-networking events, and fireside chats (e.g., consulting, organisational design and development, EDI, HR generalist).

Winter Term:

  • Five sessions each exploring a specific career route in HR and people management via a combination of LSE alumni panels, workshops, speed-networking events, and fireside chats, building on the Autumn Term sessions. E.g., people analytics, learning and development, business partnering, reward, boutique consulting.

Teaching

10 hours of lectures in the Winter Term.
10 hours of lectures in the Autumn Term.

This course has a reading week in Week 6 of Autumn and Winter Term.

Students will attend 5 sessions in Autumn Term and 5 sessions in Winter Term, 1.5 hours – 2 hours per session.

Students can access further careers events and support via CareerHub to complement this course.
