This course is for students who speak English as a foreign language.

Course content

This course is designed to help students enhance their spoken English fluency, accuracy, and confidence when engaging in both academic and everyday conversations. Each session explores a different theme or topic, integrating vocabulary development, discourse strategies, and interactive speaking tasks. Students will practice expressing ideas clearly, responding appropriately in discussions, and using language flexibly across a range of contexts. The skills developed in this course are transferable and will support effective communication at LSE and in broader UK academic and social environments.

Teaching

This is a 4-week course consisting of four 1-hour classes. The course will be offered at different times during the academic year namely: AT Wks 2-5; AT Wks 7-10; WT Wks 2-5 and WT Wks 7-10.
