Students must pass specific core course to be awarded the degree:

MSc Anthropology and Development - for students starting before 2025/26: AN436. For students starting in or after 2025/26:If AN456 is taken, then the following are critical to assessment: AN436 and AN456. If AN456 is not taken, then the following are critical: AN436 and AN476
MSc Anthropology and Development Management - AN436
MSc China in Comparative Perspective - AN447
MSc Culture, Justice, and Environment - AN476 and AN487
MSc Social Anthropology - AN404
MSc Social Anthropology (Religion in the Contemporary World) - for students starting before 2025/26 AN402. For students starting in or after 2025/26:AN490 and AN4A1
