This course is compulsory on the Executive Master of Public Policy. This course is not available as an outside option.

Course content

The policy workshop applies the analytical tools that are taught in the week-long modules of the Executive MPP to specific policy areas. Teaching is based on a series of case studies. The case studies are taught by specialists in a particular policy area and are complemented with group working sessions by the students and presentations by policy practitioners involved in the policy area.

Teaching

A three-day modular teaching block. This course is delivered as a combination of classes and lectures delivered over three days.

Formative coursework

One mock policy exercise will be offered.

Indicative reading

Readings that are specific to each policy area will be distributed at the beginning of the course.

Assessment

Essay (100%, 2000 words).

Assessment will consist of a 2,000 word reflective essay due 10 days after module teaching concludes. Further details will be provided at the Executive MPP programme induction.
