This course is compulsory on the BSc in Econometrics and Mathematical Economics, BSc in Economics and MSc in Economics (2 Year Programme). This course is not available as an outside option nor to General Course students.

Microeconomics I (EC1A1)

Course content

In this course, we use the tools learnt in Microeconomics I (EC1A1) to provide an in-depth analysis of microeconomic theory, as well as applications of the tools of microeconomics to concrete economic problems. In the first part of the course, you will explore the demand and supply side in depth, before bringing the two sides together in the analysis of general equilibrium and exploring market failures arising from asymmetric information. The second part of the course explores a series of applied microeconomics topics, which prepare students for third year optional courses and form the basis of the group research project.

Teaching

20 hours of lectures and 20 hours of classes in the MT. 20 hours of lectures and 20 hours of classes in the LT.

Classes will consist of 30 students because of the longer duration.
