These Exam Sub-Board 'local rules' apply to the following programmes:
MRes International Development
MSc African Development
MSc Development Management
MSc Development Studies (Research)
MSc Development Studies
MSc Health and International Development
MSc International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies
MSc Population and Development

1.

Course critical to assessment:
MRes International Development: no course is critical to assessment.
MSc Population and Development: students must pass DV459 to be awarded the degree, The mark in this course does not impact the award of a Distinction.
From 2017/18 students must achieve a mark of 65 in the following programmes in order to achieve an overall Distinction:
MSc African Development: DV410 (mark of at least 65)
MSc Development Management: DV410 (mark of at least 65)
MSc Development Studies: DV410 (mark of at least 65)
MSc Health and International Development: DV410 (mark of at least 65)
MSc International Development and Humanitarian Emergencies: DV410 (mark of at least 65)

2.

Distinction/Merit borderline (scheme paragraph 3.3.2):
Classification for students with mark profiles falling into this range will always be determined to the advantage of the student.

Merit/Pass borderline (scheme paragraph 3.3.4):
Classification for students with mark profiles falling into this range will always be determined to the advantage of the student.
