Scheme for the Award of a Taught Master's Degree for students entering from 2011/12: Sub-Board 'local rules'

Please read the following local rules in conjunction with the relevant scheme paragraph in the Classification Scheme for this programme:

These Exam Sub-Board 'local rules' apply to the following programmes:
MSc Management Science (Decision Sciences)
MSc Management Science (Operational Research)

1.

Course critical to assessment:
A degree cannot be awarded unless MG4C7 Applied Management Science (formerly OR440) or MG4C9 Dissertation: MSc Management Science (formerly OR499) have been passed and the mark in the course must be Merit or above for an overall classification of Distinction to be awarded.

Distinction/Merit borderline (scheme paragraph 3.3.2):
Classification for students with mark profiles falling into this range will be determined according to an aggregate formula: 270 for 4 units (540 for 8 half units) and subject to the critical course mark being Merit or above for an overall classification of Distinction.

Merit/Pass borderline (scheme paragraph 3.3.4):
Classification for students with mark profiles falling into this range will be determined according to an aggregate formula of 240 for 4 units (480 for 8 half units).
