Availability

This course is available on the BSc in Management Sciences. This course is not available as an outside option nor to General Course students.

Any student intending to take this course in the third year must contact the Departmental Tutor before the beginning of the ST of her or his second year.

Pre-requisites

Students must have completed Model Building in Operational Research (OR301).

Course content

The student will carry out and report on a substantial piece of operational research.

Teaching

Students will be assigned to a supervisor who will continuously monitor progress and give tutorial guidance as required.

Formative coursework

Each student will produce terms of reference by week four of the MT and write a project report during the Easter vacation.

Assessment

Project (100%) in the ST.

Assessment is based entirely on the report submitted to the supervisors by the end of the second week of the ST. Guidance will be given on the basis of a draft report.
