Availability

This course is available on the Master of Laws and Master of Laws (extended part-time study). This course is available with permission as an outside option to students on other programmes where regulations permit.

Course content

A series of ad hoc one-hour seminars running during MT and LT. The programme changes annually, with sessions given by distinguished visiting academics, practitioners and other experts on issues related to their specialist interests. The aim is to expose LLM students to a wider range of material than is possible in many of the taught courses, and to explore and challenge some of the issues and themes that are currently controversial. Most sessions will run as seminars rather than public lectures, with students expected to interact with the seminar speaker and with each other.

Teaching

Weekly or fortnightly one-hour sessions during the MT and LT.

Assessment

Not assessed, although many sessions will be directly or indirectly related to material considered in other assessable LLM courses.
