Join the Gender, Justice and Security Hub 

The Gender, Justice and Security Hub is recruiting for two research officer positions. The Gender, Justice and Security Hub is a five year project working at the overlap of Sustainable Development Goal 5 on gender equality; SDG 16 on peace, justice and strong institutions; and the implementation of the Women, Peace and Security agenda. With partners around the world, at LSE the Hub is housed in the Centre for Women, Peace and Security.

The deadline for both positions is 25 February 2021 (23.59 UK time). 

  • Research Officer - Women's Rights After War Project

    The postholder will have a PhD in political science, sociology or a related discipline and experience or training in utilising quantitative research methods. The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience working with subnational data, and an interest in questions pertaining to gender and politics, the intersection of gender and other identities, and / or gender and conflict. They will have a record of high-quality research and writing in the fields of subnational politics and / or political gender quotas and / or gender and conflict. Experience of conducting complex fieldwork and / or working with partners to collect original data in conflict-affected contexts would be an advantage, as would knowledge of one or more of the project countries.

  • Research Officer - Men, Peace and Security Project

    The postholder will have a social science PhD with a specialism in gender and expertise in areas of focus for the Gender, Justice and Security Hub. They will have published work on men and masculinity, demonstrable knowledge of and connections to the community of policy and practice on engaging men and boys in gender equality initiatives.
