Garfield Weston Foundation

Work is continuing on the new Students’ Centre and thanks to a generous donation of funds by the Garfield Weston Foundation, we are one step closer to ensuring our facilities live up to the standards set by our students and staff. The new Students’ Centre marks an exciting phase in the School’s estates strategy, meeting the standard set by the New Academic Building and raising the environmental bar even further.

The Garfield Weston Foundation was established in 1958 as a grant giving charity for UK registered charities. The School was awarded £250,000 from the foundation, to go towards this exciting and innovative project which will transform the heart of the campus. This donation follows the Wolfson Foundation donation of £100,000 towards the centre.

The new Students' Centre is an important undertaking for LSE, being the first entirely new building in over 40 years. It will transform student life and aims to be the best students' centre in the world. Housing the Students' Union and other student services such as the LSE Careers Service, adding significant value to the student experience at the school.

LSE continues to be grateful for the generous support of its alumni and friends on this project and others throughout the School.
