Overview

In a highly interconnected, increasingly complex policy landscape, it’s more important than ever for policy leaders to understand the social, political, and economic factors that influence public policy and the technological innovations that can be used to implement policy changes more efficiently. During the LSE Public Policy Strategy: From Design to Evaluation Programme, you’ll learn to design, evaluate, and implement policy using global frameworks and technological innovation. Learning from LSE faculty and their multidisciplinary approach, you’ll learn key analytical frameworks, analyse open data policies, evaluate transparency policies, draft policy briefs, and develop practical skills that can be applied immediately in your career.

Guided by LSE’s Professor Daniel Berliner and Dr Ryan Jablonski, you’ll explore contemporary innovations in information, participation, and technology with a focus on AI and algorithmic tools. Drawing on real-world examples, you’ll discover how these innovations can be used to streamline decision making, uncover insights, and build policies that are more equitable and efficient. You’ll also explore the potential adverse consequences posed by these innovations, and learn from global policy experts from the World Bank, various governments, and leading NGOs. Over the course of 20 weeks, you’ll become a strategic leader with a holistic understanding of the policy process and the skills to make meaningful policy recommendations.
