Student Academic Representatives are important people in the Department and the School! Their role is to speak for students and represent them in discussions with Department Faculty and Professional staff. They help the department to constantly work to improve the student experience both in and outside of the classroom. Student representatives from each programme will be elected at the start of the year and training will be provided by the Student’s Union. How can I get involved?
Students interested in the position will need to submit a 200 word (max) expression of interest which will then be made available to all students in the Department at the start of the year. Those who have expressed interest will also be given the opportunity to make a short video statement outlining why they wish to be elected. However, this is not compulsory: any student who may wish to stand on the basis of their statement alone may also do so.
Students will then vote for who they would like to represent their programme via an online poll by the end of Michaelmas Term week 3.
