Enhancing skills, advancing careers

MPA students benefit from study support sessions to strengthen their analytical, evaluative, writing and presentation skills. The seminars comprise lectures, workshops and practice sessions.

The study support training offered across both years of the MPA programme helps students develop transferable skills that are essential for effective policy analysis and research.

Policy Paper and Dissertation support seminars

In year two, for those choosing to write a Policy Paper or Dissertation support seminars concentrate on:

  • Understanding the difference between a Policy Paper and a Dissertation
  • Developing research topics and questions
  • Structuring and presenting policy analysis
  • The MPA assessment requirements for Policy Papers and Dissertations.

LSE LIFE

LSE LIFE is a place where you can come to learn more about yourself, your studies and your goals. 

During the semester, LSE LIFE offers LSE students a wide range of talks, workshops, study advice, and academic mentoring. 

LSE LIFE is located on the Ground Floor of LSE Library and is open from Monday - Friday, 10am - 6pm.

LSE Careers

LSE Careers provides networking opportunities, careers advice, and workshops to strengthen your professional skills. 

As an LSE student, you can book one to one appointments with individual career consultants to help discuss your career aspirations, review your CV, or practice mock interviews. 

LSE Careers is based on the 5th Floor of Saw Swee Hock Student Centre and are open Mon – Fri 9.30am - 5pm and Thursday 9.30am – 8pm.

You can book a careers appointment, or register for an upcoming careers event through LSE Careerhub.

LSE Language Centre

If you are interested in learning a new language, or improving your exisiting level in a particular language, you can register for a class at the LSE Language Centre

The LSE Language Centre offers courses in French, Manadrin Chinese, Spanish, Russian, and as well as other languages.
