The Department of Philosophy offers a variety of fantastic courses but you may be interested in taking an outside option as part of your programme.
If you are interested in taking courses from the Department of Economics as part of your Philosophy degree you will need to take the pre-sessional EC 400 Introductory Course in Mathematics and Statistics. Be aware that this is not a beginner’s level course and you must have some background in Economics to be able to pass.
Unless you hold an offer for the MSc Economics and Philosophy, you will need to apply for the EC400 course separately by completing an online application form. Deadline to apply is Wednesday 28 June 2023. Please be aware that not everyone who applies will be offered a place, but you will still be able to audit lectures without being registered and without any further responsibilities. There really is no reason to be disappointed if you can’t get on to one of the Economics classes: our Philosophy staff will make sure to keep you entertained!
