Dr Maria Giamouzi is an LSE Fellow in the Department of Management with research interests in asset management and risk modelling. She currently teaches the classes of the MSc course Business Analysis.
Dr Giamouzi obtained her PhD in Shipping and Finance from CASS Business School and her MSc in Operational Research from LSE. She also holds a BSc in Marketing and Operations Management from the University of Macedonia, Greece.
She has previously served as a Teaching Assistant for bachelor and postgraduate courses at CASS Business School, University College London, London Business School and ESCP Europe teaching modules such as Financial Mathematics and Business Statistics, Data Analytics for Managers and Alternative Investments.
Her main academic interests are in the area of asset management, asset pricing, risk management, applied econometrics and behavioural finance. More specifically her research focuses on analysing the dynamics of physical hedging instruments to provide robust ship chartering strategies that can be used to increase the profitability of their operations using a variety of methodological approaches (i.e. term structure and econometric models and technical trading rules).
