Dr Mariana Bogdanova joined the department as a Fellow in September 2017. Her research interests focus on exploring organizational contexts in transition settings, where her doctoral research focused on the development of the non-profit sector in post-socialist Bulgaria. This included looking at cross-organisational partnerships, learning and knowledge transfer. Mariana also has a broader interest in the shape and shifting of third sector boundaries. She also researches learning and research practices which promote creativity such as visual and reflective methods.
Mariana holds a PhD in Management from Cass Business School and an MA in Organisation Studies from the University of Warwick. Prior to her post at the LSE, Mariana was a Management lecturer at Queen’s University Belfast and worked on a number of research projects at Cass Business School and other research institutions involving the development of the UK’s voluntary sector and the responsible behaviour in the City of London’s financial industry actors.
