Dr Jamila Nigmatulina completed her PhD in Economic Geography with the LSE Department of Geography and Environment in 2021.
She has research interests in Macroeconomic Development and also Urban and Public Economics. She has co-authored papers on the long running effects of infrastructure and property rights in urban Africa (Journal of Political Economy, 2021), and agglomeration economies in African cities (Journal of Urban Economics, 2021).
Jamila also holds an MA in Economics from Duke University, North Carolina. She most recently worked as a Teaching Fellow with the LSE School of Public Policy and as a Guest Teacher at the Department of Economics.
