The Innovation Co-creation Lab, the Latin America and Caribbean Centre and LSE Generate are delighted to co-host the third workshop of the Social Entrepreneurship 360° series on 7 June 2018. The series, sponsored by Santander, will bring together a new group of successful social entrepreneurs at different stages of development who will explain their journey, their business models, their failures and lessons learned, and will share their ‘golden nuggets’ for success.

City Director in Santiago de Chile for Laboratoria
José is the City Director in Santiago de Chile for Laboratoria, a social startup that empowers young women from low- income backgrounds by giving them access to education and work in the digital sector. José leads a team that is transforming the digital sector. Before joining Laboratoria, he co-founded Formando Chile and CO-Emprende, both social enterprises that exist to build a fairer and more humane society, specifically through education and micro-entrepreneurship.

Alina Truhina
Director, Partnerships & Growth, A2B
Alina creates smart and innovative collaborations with corporates, SMEs, development institutions and other non-for-profit actors. Her focus is on supporting ventures in emerging markets to overcome growth barriers and scale faster by working with diverse and strategic partners. A2b operates in 8 countries works with 80 businesses and have invested more than 20 m, growing several businesses to profitable exit. Prior to A2B, Alina worked at SPRING Accelerator, and prior to that at the World Bank in Switzerland, where she built collaborations with international organisations, such as the United Nations, private sector multinationals, and donor governments.

Maureen Salmon
Founder, Freshwaters Consultancy
Maureen is the Founder of Freshwaters Consultancy Ltd. Her firm has been involved in the practice, research, teaching, development and delivery of entrepreneurship projects and programmes and degrees courses in UK and internationally since 2000. She helps to support the development of social cultural /creative entrepreneurs from industry sectors and coach young people on the Youth Start-Up Weekend programme. She was the co-creator of the Social Inclusion through Entrepreneurship Project 2000-2004, funded by the UK, EU governments and businesses.

Lean Start-up for Social Entrepreneurs
Led by Dr. Linda Hickman.
Dr Linda Hickman is an entrepreneur, educator, mentor, author, Visiting Senior Fellow at the London School of Economics, and founder of Hickman & Associates based in London. A graduate of Stanford University, a Silicon Valley and European network supports her mentoring and consulting. She has extensive entrepreneurial experience in opening new businesses and markets in over 37 countries at Oracle during its rapid growth period. Her strategy consulting includes clients such as CERN, Apple, Siebel, Schlumberger, MoD, Ministries of Finance, Ford, Mazda and Unilever.

Solutions Lab- Solve a real world problem and win a prize
Led by Simon Grainge, CEO of Emmaus UK and Linda Drury, Head of Business Development at Emmaus UK
How to solve the biggest challenge facing Emmaus UK? This will be the task proposed to attendees, who will break into groups for 45 mins to create an innovative initiative that addresses the problem. Students will present their solutions and there will be a small prize for the best idea.
Simon Grainge is Chief Executive of Emmaus UK. After a career in the police service, Simon moved into the charity sector where he has since worked in disability, international development and homelessness. He has worked with Emmaus at local, national and international levels.
Linda Drury is Head of Business Development at Emmaus UK. Her career began in finance working in both the public and private sectors before moving into the charity sector. Working in operational and financial management she has supported affiliated charities to build and develop their own capabilities.

Charmian Love
Charmian is Entrepreneur in Residence at The Skoll Centre for Social Entrepreneurship within the Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where she is leading The Circular Economy Lab incubation process and teaching an MBA course on the subject. In addition to her role at the University of Oxford, Charmian is Co-Founder and Chair of B Lab UK and on the board of B Team UK. She is also on the Sustainability Advisory Council at ICAEW and was recently appointed to the Investment Committee at LWARB. Prior to joining the team at Oxford, Charmian was Founding CEO of Volans, a change agency she Co-Founded with John Elkington.
Stuart Ferguson
Stuart joined London Waste & Recycling Board in May 2016 as Head of Investment and is responsible for designing and implementing all circular economy investment programmes, ranging from start-up acceleration through to growth equity investments. He has previously worked as Head of Fund Investment at Big Issue Invest, a leading social investor, working with scalable, high growth SMEs seeking to deliver financial returns and impact. Prior to this role, Stuart worked for Lloyds Banking Group for 15 years in a variety of transactional and relationship management roles. Stuart brings significant experience of working with businesses across the investment lifecycle and has held a number of Board positions.
Olya Krestyaninova
Olya is a 1+1 graduate student at the University of Oxford. She recently completed an MSc in Environmental Change and Management and is currently working towards her MBA at Saïd Business School. Olya is the lead project developer of the Circular Economy Circus, which is supported by Skoll Center for Social Entrepreneurship. Olya's research and background is in environmental and sustainability education, specifically in Central Asia. She focuses on engaging youth with environmental issues through innovative communication and experiential learning. Olya holds a BS in Chemistry from New York University, she is a WEF Global Shaper, and Global Academic Fellow at NYU Abu Dhab

Bootcamp/workshop: How to ensure stakeholders’ voice in the B Corps model?
Led by Malu Villela Garcia
How to ensure stakeholders’ voice in the B Corps model? We will be analysing four cases of Brazilian B Corps and how their corporate governance balances social and financial goals. Attendees will work in groups to propose innovative solutions for these mission-led companies to meaningfully engage with their stakeholders.
Malu Villela Garcia
Malu is both a practitioner and a researcher engaged with mission-led businesses, corporate social responsibility, social enterprises and sustainability. As a practitioner, she has worked for leading organisations in the field of business and sustainability in Brazil, including the Akatu Institute for Conscious Consumption and the Research Centre for Sustainability at the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV). As a researcher, she has led the Friends of the Amazon Network in Brazil, working at the intersection of research and practice to address the impact of illegal logging on the Amazon deforestation, a key challenge for climate change and sustainability.
Malu holds a degree in Social Communication, a Master’s in Social Sciences Research Methods from Cardiff University and a Ph.D. in Management from the Getulio Vargas Foundation (FGV-EAESP). She is now a Vice-Chancellor’s Fellow at the University of Bristol, researching the socio-environmental economy ecosystem in cities.
