IMPORTANT NOTICE – If you require a Short-Term Study visa letter to return to the School and sit assessments in January 2017, please submit your online request form after 14 November 2016. You request will be processed in line with our standard processing times (within 5-10 working days of receipt).
This Short-Term Study letter request form is for:
-
unregistered LSE students who are required to return to the UK to re-sit examinations and/or dissertation in the summer or Lent Term Week 0*;
-
students who will be attending the School for no longer than 6 months.
* Please note that we are not able to issue Short-Term Study Visa letters to student who are required to sit Lent Term Week 0 examinations if their official results have not been ratified and published. Results for 12-month masters students will be published on 14 November 2016.
This request form is NOT for:
-
Offer holders, or students expecting to register at the LSE, should contact either Graduate or Undergraduate Admissions with any CAS queries.
-
Summer School students should contact the Summer Schooloffice.
-
Double Degreestudents, who should follow the instructions given by their programme administrators.
Please note: If you enter the UK with a Short-Term Study Visa you do not have the option to extend this visa from within the UK. If you will require additional time to complete your studies you will have to return to your home country and submit a request for a CAS to enable you to apply for a Tier 4 (General) student visa from outside the UK. A student visitor visa, therefore, may not be suitable for non-final year students returning to the UK to re-sit examinations.
Full details on the difference between entering the UK with a student visitor instead of a Tier 4 student visa are available from the International Student Visa Advice Team's web pages.
