I’m a German, English and Russian speaking PhD candidate at the International Relations department of the London School of Economics and Political Science. My research explores questions of state and institution building in de facto states, Russian foreign policy and the provision of education services in areas of limited statehood. I apply both quantitative and qualitative research methods including interviews, case comparisons, time series cross-sectional panel data and survival analysis. Previously, I have published blog articles on Russia’s relations with South Ossetia and Icelandic party politics. In 2017/2018 I was awarded the Goodwin Scholarship by the LSE for my PhD research.
