Strategic Updates are short publications from LSE IDEAS. We welcome submissions from both practitioners and academics, both established and early career. However, please note capacity is limited.
Strategic Updates are normally topical, but must look forward rather than reacting to recent events.
The series is for a broad, general policy audience. We are also looking in particular for 'explainers'. Updates should try to provide ideas and recommendations to improve policy or diplomatic strategy. The series is not a way to publish shorter or draft versions of papers.
- What's the problem? What's the solution?
- What's an interesting new trend that you see developing?
- What could the long term consequences of recent events be?
- What is the story of a topical trend/idea?
Submit your proposed topic to email@example.com. If your topic is accepted you will be sent the LSE IDEAS guidelines for authors in order to draft your update. You will work with an IDEAS editor, who retains final say on submitted updates.
Please note that LSE IDEAS Strategic Updates are not peer-reviewed publications. We do not hold launch events for Strategic Updates.
