Report of a workshop of Climate Commissions, Partnerships and Local Authorities in the East of England.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On 4th July 2023 the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research at the University of East Anglia (UEA) and Norwich Climate Commission hosted a workshop for representatives of Climate Commissions, Partnerships, Action Networks and Local Authorities from across the East of England, defined here as Essex to Lincolnshire. The workshop was held in partnership with the University of Lincoln and the Place-based Climate Action Network (PCAN).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This geographical region shares a number of common challenges in relation to climate change mitigation and adaptation: similar mixes of urban and rural environments and land use; significant house building targets; ongoing reliance on road transport; and pronounced risks to coastlines, infrastructure, water supplies, natural ecosystems, and human health and wellbeing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The region has also seen an increase in climate partnership working and new institutions geared towards addressing these challenges. The aim of the workshop was to share experiences and achievements across these institutions, to identify challenges and opportunities for further climate action, and to build a network of mutual support and learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
