Final report and synthesis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Authors:<\/strong> These publications are a collaborative effort of more than 30 Ministries of Finance, an expert advisory group and many other organisations and individuals. Nick Godfrey and Anika Heckwolf were the lead authors and coordinators with Alina Averchenkova. Guidance and support were provided by Lord Nicholas Stern and Amar Bhattacharya. This final report\/guide and abridged synthesis report cover the case for climate leadership by Ministries of Finance, a framework for mainstreaming climate into their core functions and capabilities, and priorities for action. The reports are aimed primarily at Ministries of Finance but are designed to be useful to anyone seeking to better understand the role of these ministries in driving climate action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reports aim to raise awareness among Finance Ministers about the actions and opportunities available for mainstreaming climate action. Rather than being prescriptive, they provide a framework of options to help countries enhance their core functions and capabilities to act according to their national circumstances. Aligned with the Helsinki Principles<\/path><\/svg><\/a> (HPs), the framework and analysis are designed to provide the basis for concrete action. The reports can inform training, technical assistance, knowledge partnerships and research efforts with relevant actors to ensure high-quality analysis, research and support are accessible to Ministries of Finance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
