Next, it evaluates the results of a survey on communicating disaster risk by a range of participants at the 2016 Wet\/Hurricane Season Caribbean Community Climate Outlook Forum in Dominica. Respondents commented that there may be a &lsquo;weekend effect&rsquo; possibly hindering quick action and suggested that improved institutional support was needed to use climate information better. Analysis of these two datasets in tandem offers a unique understanding of whether the timing of events may contribute to limitations on responses by local authorities. Lastly, the paper ends with insights into how this research can assist regional authorities in enhancing and utilising climate information for disaster risk reduction, as well as by indicating where critical issues remain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dookie, D.S. and Spence-Hemmings, J.
