Sumitava Mukherjee is a decision researcher within the broad area of behavioural and cognitive science, currently interested in psychological perspectives on drinking water. From consumer insights to behavioral practices and public health, he is interested in how we think, act, and decide about drinking water, along with some further questions that lead to water security and water futures.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Sumitava holds a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Cognitive Science, and a B.E. in Computer Engineering. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhii, and leads the WaterThoughts<\/path><\/svg><\/a> research group.  His current research on drinking water is built upon decision research and goes beyond by using the lens of cognitive and economic psychology.  He is passionate about behavioral insights towards sustainable development goals and talks to various stakeholders regarding drinking water from the perspective of a behavioral and cognitive scientist. At the Grantham Research Institute, he is associated with behavioral perspectives on water security. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
