Dr. Lina Taing is a global expert in water security, climate resilience, and environmental health, with nearly two decades of experience bridging science, policy, and practice. As an applied social and behavioural scientist, she specialises in how people interact with water, nature, and health systems—helping communities and decision-makers implement solutions that work in the real world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Her career has spanned Sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, Europe, and North America, where she has led research, policy, and capacity-strengthening initiatives on issues ranging from broadening water and sanitation services for urban poor communities to scaling nature-based solutions (NbS) for climate adaptation. She has collaborated extensively with governments, NGOs, and multilateral organisations to improve access to clean water, strengthen climate resilience, and support marginalised populations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An experienced educator, Lina has convened interdisciplinary graduate courses on global water challenges, behavioural science, and environmental governance at institutions like IHE Delft (UNESCO-IHE), the UN water think tank, and McMaster University. Her current work at PHASES Collab and Nature for Water Facility (N4W) focuses on advancing antimicrobial resistance (AMR) environmental surveillance in a One Health context, integrating behaviour-driven programming in the water and climate sectors, and scaling NbS implementation.
